I'm 14 years old. Why haven't I had a growth spurt?

Fourteen is the average age for boys to begin growing taller quickly. However, the actual time is more dependent on when you reached puberty than a particular age. The major growth spurt occurs in Tanner Stage 3, which starts about two years after you enter adolescence. Therefore, if you know when you began seeing signs of puberty, add two years to it and that will be about the time you will begin your growth spurt. Since the normal range for beginning puberty is between ages 9 and 16, your growth spurt can begin between ages 11 and 18. To estimate what stage of development you are in, see the Tanner Stage Calculator for Boys.
