I am 14. I have big hands and a shoe size of 8.5 (U.K. size I think) [American size would be 9.5]. I am about 5 foot 2 , maybe 3. My voice hasn't deepened yet. I have some armpit hair but not much. I have about 3 or 4 noticeable chest hairs. I have hairs on my legs but not a whole lot. It is the same with my arm hairs. I have a slight amount of hair above my lip, my weight is bout 7.5 to 8 stone [about 105 to 112 pounds in America], which I think is too thin. My penis is about 3.5, maybe 4 inches, when erect and 2 inches soft. My testicles aren't that big. I am quite strong, but I look weak for some reason. I have just started to get spots on my nose about 2 months ago. Will my penis grow more and is there anything wrong with my weight?

John (age 14)

I do believe you are the first person to write with almost enough detail that I can estimate your stage of development. From your description, I would guess that you are in Tanner's stage two, toward the end of the stage. In addition to what you have described, it would also mean that you are experiencing a lot of spontaneous erections, but you haven't had an ejaculation yet. Your body is just about set for your growth spurt. Your hands and feet have already started, but when your legs and arms start, then you will notice a rapid increase in height. Your pubic hair, the hair around your genitals, is thickest near the base of your penis, but it is mostly fine and straight.

As far as your weight, your at the 45 to 50% range -- that is, you're just about average for a fourteen year old. Height wise, you are in the 25 to 35% range -- a bit shorter than average -- but then you haven't started your growth spurt yet and the average boy starts around age 12 and a half to 13. You'll catch up once your growth starts, which should be in about six months or so.

Your penis will also gain more length as you go through your growth spurt. On the tail end of that growth, in stage four, it will become bigger around, so don't worry about your size. You're fairly typical for the stage of development in which you are. Your testicles will also steadily increase in size over the next four to five years. To estimate what stage of development you are in, see the Tanner Stage Calculator for Boys.

As far as your muscles, they aren't big because you haven't reach the point in development when you can produce big muscles. Even though they aren't large yet, it doesn't mean you can't be strong. It means you are well able to use what you currently have. In stage four, which will probably be around age 17 for you, you will begin to be able to produce large muscles. Then you will be really strong, and look it as well.

Write again if you have any more questions, or if you think I missed my guess for some reason.
