Question

I have read on your site and other places that the best way to not get them is to use a condom. But in the future when I am married (I am 13 years old. I will not be married for a while and do not plan of having sex until then). IF we do want to have a baby that cannot be accomplished using a condom, so my question is: How do couples have babies without getting STDs?

Answer

Somehow you got the wrong message in reading my material. Condoms limit the spread of some diseases, but they cannot eliminate the risks. The best way (and only way) to avoid STDs is to only have sex with your wife. You can only catch a disease from someone who has the disease. The act of sex doesn't cause a disease -- bacteria and viruses do that. If you and your wife don't have an STD because you didn't have sex with anyone else, then you two won't get a disease from each other. Married couples don't need to use contraceptives except when they want to delay having a child.
