My girlfriend and I have been together almost two years now. I love her more than any other person on earth. She has a nice personality, she is talented, and just simply amazing. We are both Christians. We enjoy each other company very much, making jokes, playing games, encouraging each other and a lot more positive things. Our ages are 18 and 19. We plan to get married in the next five years. At this point sexual temptation is increasing each day. I never touched her before and that's because I respect her body more than my sexual feelings. I don't think I can put up with this for the next five years. I need some advice.
"But I say to the unmarried and to widows that it is good for them if they remain even as I. But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion" (I Corinthians 7:8-9).
People causes themselves more problems because they impose rules upon themselves which are not necessary. Both of you are of legal age. There is no reason you cannot go ahead and get married. It is true that things will get a bit more difficult for a while because you will be taking on responsibilities for each other and will no longer be dependent on your parents, but those challenges are better that committing sin. Besides, when you overcome those challenges, you both will be better people as a result.
