Are skinny jeans bad for you?

Question:

Is wearing skinny jeans bad for your genital area. I recently wore these tight skinny jeans and my penis and balls we like all tight together. Is it bad to have them all suffocated like that?

Answer:

Just because something is stylish, it doesn’t mean it is practical or comfortable. Skinny jeans won’t cause any lasting harm.

The typical concern is overheating. Your testicles need to be a few degrees cooler than the rest of your body to efficiently produce sperm. Tight clothing keeps the scrotum and penis from expanding the surface area when you get warm. The result is fewer sperm, but probably not enough to make you infertile. Fortunately, as soon as you get out of the tight clothing, the genitals cool off and sperm production returns to normal.

Excess warmth can also cause moisture to build up around the groin and make you more vulnerable to jock itch — a fungus that loves warm moist places to grow.

On the positive side, tight pants would prevent your testicles from rotating so you would be less likely to suffer testicular torsion.

Tight clothing can also cause backaches from pressing on nerves and indigestion by compressing the intestinal tract. These aren’t common, but they have been reported as happening.

Clothing should be chosen because it is modest, comfortable, and functional, but because clothiers are trying to sell something different to increase their sales.
