Question:

I would like to thank you very much for posting: “I have small yellow spot-like lumps dangling down from the bottom of my bell end

I have exactly the same problem. I am 16 but I think I have had them for a good 2 or 3 years now. I always wondered what they were and now that the years have gone by and they haven’t changed, I was starting to get very worried. I researched a lot and found this post. I think it is excellent. I am not saying I have had oral sex or any sort of sex but when the time comes, I want to know whether it is safe or not to do it. I have recently had a larger lump at the bottom of the shaft where the main part of the hair is. This got to about 5 mm wide. At first, it was skin-colored then it went very dark. It then popped naturally and a sort of puss came out of it. It then scabbed over and, well, disappeared. But today I have found another one, it is in the first stage where it is just growing, but it is sore to touch. I wonder if you know what it is or how I can treat it? And is there a way to treat yellow bumps caused by the sebaceous glands and make them fade away?

I will say again, I really like this post. I am so relieved I have found what I needed. If you can’t reply then thank you for reading this, but if you can, it would be much appreciated and I will hopefully be a lot happier with myself.

Answer:

I’m glad you found the information useful. That is why I post these answers. When one person has a problem, you can be certain that there are thousands of other people with the same problem.

In regards to your current problem, please remember that I can only guess based on your description. Most likely you are having acne problems. Acne isn’t limited to the face and can appear anywhere on your body, including your penis. Your skin is covered by sweat glands, oil glands, and hair follicles and the shaft of your penis is no different. Any of these glands can get bacteria trapped in them and cause an outbreak. Make sure to keep your skin clean with soap and water on a daily basis. Soap kills and removes bacteria, but make sure to rinse well as soap left on the skin causes it to get dry and itchy. It might help to put a little bit of antibiotic ointment on and around the infected area to keep it from spreading. Just don’t use a whole lot as it can clog your oil glands and cause more pimples. If it continues to happen, you should see your doctor for an antibiotic that is stronger and more specific to the infection that you have.

There is no treatment for having visible oil glands on the shaft of your penis, also called Fordyce spots. You need oil glands to keep your skin soft and flexible. It is just that the skin on your penis is thin that makes these glands noticeable. You probably have a light skin color that makes them even easier to see. As you get older, your oil production will decrease and the oil glands will be slightly less noticeable.

I hope that you realize that waiting until you are married is the best time to start having sex. God says it is best and you will find your life having far fewer problems when you save yourself for the one special girl whom you have married.
