I start growing hair at 8, but I’m only in stage 3 at 14

Question:

Hello.

I am 14. Apparently I’m at 3.7 in the calculator but I have some questions:

The problem is I got armpit hair and pubic hair when I was in second grade, and then in the 7th and 8th grade, I grew from around 5’4 to 6’0, but that’s all. I’m 6’0 220 lbs and size 12 shoes. I feel like there is something wrong with me, my voice has only gotten a tiny bit deeper. I get mistaken for my mom on the phone. I’m tall and big, but my voice is still really high pitched. And my penis hasn’t really grown, I’m at around 4″ and it’s been like that for as long as the 5th grade. I just feel really insecure about my voice and my penis size because I’m big. I’ve been told straight up that I’m a manchild. I feel like my voice should be deeper and my penis longer. I just don’t get it, armpit hair and pubic hair at 8, and 8-year-old voice and privates at 14.

Do you know when I will mature more?

Answer:

For a boy to grow pubic hair at the age of 8 is abnormal. But since you hit your growth spurt at a typical age, I have to conclude that while you started too early, you are going through the stages slowly compared to others. That would lead me to believe that the things which normally come during stage 4, such as a deeper voice and a larger diameter penis will eventually come.

Unless you are really muscular, 220 lbs is overweight for someone who is 6’0″. You should be down in the 180 range. However, it isn’t good for a boy to diet during his growing years. So what I’m going to recommend is that you cut out all the junk food you’ve been eating. Eat enough so you are not hungry, but don’t eat so much that you feel full when you leave the table. Make sure that you eat a good variety of healthy food. When you get to be about twenty, then you can get really serious about your diet.

The normal range for the male penis is between 3 and 8 inches. So a 4″ erect penis is normal even though it is less than the average is 5.2 inches [http://www.bjuinternational.com/bjui-blog/normal-review-analyzes-data-flaccid-erect-penis-lengths-men/]. Losing weight will expose more of your penis since the base is being hidden under the fat on your groin.

Your voice pitch is determined by the size of your voice box in your throat. Everyone is different and it is possible that you will end up with a voice in the tenor range. It can’t be determined at this point. Since you haven’t mentioned your voice breaking up, I’m assuming that your voice box hasn’t grown yet, which isn’t surprising given your unusual growth pattern so far.

There is really nothing you can do about the circumstances, other than start managing your weight. It is too early to say what your final size and pitch will be, so focus on what you can manage and leave the rest in God’s hands since you can’t change it anyway.
