I still don’t understand the difference between love and infatuation

Question:

Can you tell me in detail about infatuation and love? I went through your articles, but I couldn’t get a good idea on this!

Answer:

I would be happy to but I need to know more about what you didn’t understand or what questions you have. In short, infatuation is based on your imagination. You don’t know the person well, but you imagine they have different characteristics. Therefore, you are not in love with a real person but in love with an imaginary person. As you get to know the person better, you learn who the real person is, and either you will become disappointed or more in love with the person. “More in love” because now what you love is based on who that person really is.

True love is based on reality. As a result, true love is stable (I Corinthians 13:8). Infatuation is based on imagination; therefore, it is highly unstable.
