If you ejaculate often, do you get fewer morning erections?

Question:

Hello Mr Hamilton,

I haven’t been on the site for a while. I like the mobile-friendly redesign! I was wondering though why articles, even older ones, now have the full question written out whereas before it was usually just the date after the forward-slash. For example:

This used to be: growingupboys.info/Answers2010/12-26.html

I’m just thinking in terms of privacy, avoiding embarrassment and that internet filters might block pages with certain keywords given how many especially sensitive topics you are willing to cover.

I had a random question too. Does having frequent or very frequent sex result in having fewer morning erections, which could be less strong? I suspect the answer is no but I thought I’d double-check.

Thanks for your input over the years.

Answer:

In order to convert the old pages to the new format, I had to copy every page over by hand. While I was at it, I corrected numerous problems and redesigned the Tanner Stage Calculator. I chose the longer link names because when questions were answered is less important than the question itself. I’ll consider your suggestion, but I doubt it will make much difference in whether someone finds the needed information or not. The switch does cause problems for other sites that linked to this site, but that problem would exist regardless of the naming convention for the pages.

Since this is a site for young men who are most likely not married, I need to remind you that sex outside of marriage is forbidden by God (Hebrews 13:4). However, I’ll answer it in the theoretical sense.

During your early adolescent years, every young man is plague by frequent erections and often go through periods when they ejaculate multiple times a day. Yet, despite the frequency of ejaculating, they still have strong erections in the morning.

I found one study published in the July 2008 issue of The American Journal of Medicine that found men who continued to have sex at least once a week into their old age suffered less erectile dysfunction. In fact, the more frequently they had sex, the fewer problems they had with ED. [Daniel J. DeNoon, “Erections: Use ‘Em or Lose ‘Em,” WebMD, 3 July 2008.]

Therefore, a loss or weakening of morning erections is not due to frequent ejaculations.

Response:

Hello,

Thanks for the quick response! I was thinking of it in the theoretical sense. I agree with the Bible’s teaching about marriage.

Blessings.
