Is it unusual to start ejaculating semen at age 17?

Last updated on September 21, 2020

Question:

I turned 17 last fall, but it was only recently that I was able to ejaculate semen. Am I just developing a little slower than most boys? Also, I don’t think it has anything to do with it, but I have Asperger’s Syndrome. I’d ask my parents, but I’m too embarrassed to ask about things like this. They have some financial problems, and they told me I can ask them anything anytime, but I still feel kind of weird asking them about my stuff “down there,” if you know what I mean.

Thank you in advance!

Answer:

Boys start producing semen from stage 2 to stage 4 of development. If you are in stage 4, then you are within the normal range (which is 14 to 18). If you are in stage 2, then you are unusually late.

You’re welcome to ask any time. I’ll do my best to find answers to your questions.
