I’ve learned that if I go partway, I’ll eventually go all the way.

Question:

Hey Jeff,

I just wanted to tell you that I’m doing fine. Things are OK where I am. As far as the ‘problem’ goes, it’s clearing up. I think I have located the source of my problem with porn and how it has perpetuated. I think I may have told you this before, but I was curious about the nudist lifestyle once. However, after seeing some answers about it, I finally understand my problem. I can control myself but often times I would listen to the devil and go naked in private. That would fuel my desire to see other nudists in their lifestyle. Thus, I would gradually get closer and closer to porn. And BAM!

No more of that. No more late nights and late searches. I have to get my life in order and let God take the reigns. This email is short, but I just had to tell you this. You actually told some other guy who voiced a similar concern recently.

Cheers.

Answer:

It is great to hear you are making progress against sin. Knowing your weak point and doing something about it is the way to battle sin. Far too many people want to see how close they can get without getting caught instead of trying to get far from sin. “Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil” (I Thessalonians 5:21-22).
