When am I going to get wider?

Last updated on September 16, 2020

Question:

I’m 15. I’m 5’9 and 145 pounds. I took the Tanner Stages quiz, and I turned out to be in stage 4. The thing is that I’m narrow in the shoulders and chest. My bones are generally narrow. My voice breaks when I sing high notes, and I have chubby cheeks, even though I have a few hairs on my cheeks and above my lips and have a deep voice. I have also been working out for the past 10 months and got down to 8 percent body fat and have built a good amount of muscles. I still have all those problems. I hate looking a year younger than all of my friends, maybe even 2 years! Some people refer to me as “baby face.” It annoys me a lot. I just want to look like an adult. On top of that, I have a 5.5-inch penis!

Basically my questions are: When am I going to get wider bones? Will my penis ever get any bigger than this? When is my voice going to be stable? When am I going to have a defined jaw and a thinner face? Should I drop down to 5 percent body fat? Please help!

P.S: I took the quiz two years ago and I turned out to be in stage 2 or something like that. Love this site. Keep up the good work!

Answer:

Since you were at stage 2 two years ago, I take it that you are near the beginning of stage 4. It is during this stage that you develop a deeper voice, but it will take about a year to stabilize. It is also during stage 4 that your shoulders will widen and your chin will get a more squared-off look.

Facial hair begins to develop during stage 4 but it won’t finish until you are into stage 5. It is actually the lack of facial hair that gives you your boyish look. Facial hair makes the skin look rougher.

As far as your penis goes, it will get a little bit longer, but mostly it will get wider during stage 4. The average penis length is 5.2 inches in an adult and the normal range is between 3 and 8 inches, so there is nothing wrong with your current size [http://www.bjuinternational.com/bjui-blog/normal-review-analyzes-data-flaccid-erect-penis-lengths-men/].

I know you are anxious to be viewed as an adult, but you’ll have to wait a bit longer. The stages take about two years to get through each one. What you really need is patience. You’ll get to adulthood, but the body has to develop at its own pace.

Since you are still growing, you don’t want your body fat below 8 percent. If it is too low then you are not getting enough nutrition to grow to your maximum potential. 8 percent is considered to be the lowest you should be and be healthy.
