Question:
I have undergone a foreskin restoration process for the past four months, and it’s working. My penis is circumcised, and I am fully disappointed with my circumcised penis. I am using a stretching method. My penile glans is fully covered by the foreskin, but it’s not retracting. That means my penile head isn’t secreting smegma. I don’t know what to do in this situation. I am scared about this. I haven’t said anything about this, even to my parents, but I felt good that I got something in my life that I had left in my past.
What can I do? Please help me in this regard.
Answer:
“Was anyone called while circumcised? Let him not become uncircumcised. Was anyone called while uncircumcised? Let him not be circumcised. Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is what matters” (I Corinthians 7:18-19).
The foreskin, which is removed in circumcision, is not completely like the rest of the skin on your penis. The skin on the inside, next to the glans, has special glands that produce extra oils and moisture which results in smegma. There are also extra nerve endings on the inside of the foreskin which are severed during circumcision. Gently stretching the skin of the penis to stimulate the growth of the skin is supposed to work, but it takes eighteen months or more to reach sufficient length. Just because the skin is extended, it doesn’t mean the nerves will regrow or that the glands on the inside will work as efficiently as the original foreskin.
Smegma is a combination of skin cells that have been shed, oil, and moisture. Any uncircumcised male who doesn’t expose his glans by unsheathing his penis will have this accumulate underneath the foreskin. Smegma is something that is supposed to be rinsed off. I suspect that four months isn’t long enough to build up smegma, especially if you are keeping your penis properly cleaned anyway. Nor will you produce smegma as rapidly as an uncircumcised male.
