Question:
Hey there!
I was using the Tanner Stage Calculator and I got results from 4.5 to 4.8. I’m a 19-year-old Hispanic male. I think I’m a late bloomer. I have like four hairs on my armpits, but a lot of pubic hair. I’m 5’8″. I have fine hair under my nose that is kind of noticeable. I weigh 145 pounds.
I’m concerned about my penis size. I’m 4 1/2 inches long erect and about 3.8 inches in girth when erect. Will my penis grow still, or am I done growing? I don’t have the full body of an adult. I still look young, like I am 16. My brother, who is 15, is starting to look older, has noticeable sideburns, has a lot of armpit hair, is getting a mustache. What’s wrong with me? Should I be concerned?
About the penis size question: I do ejaculate. I had sex before, but I don’t think the girl was pleased.
Please help.
Answer:
My problem is that I can’t double-check your answers because I don’t know you, and I can’t see you. To be late in stage 4 at the age of 19 would not indicate that you are a late bloomer. It may be that you are slower at developing facial and body hair or that genetically, you are not going to be a hairy man. That said, your description of your facial and body hair sounds more like someone in stage 3 than near stage 5. If this is a concern, you would need to see your doctor. He, at least, can see you and double-check your own observations.
For the moment, I’ll assume that you are near stage 5. If so, then your height is basically finished, and your penis will not be growing anymore. While you are smaller than average, 4.5 inches is well within the range of what is considered normal for a male. The normal range is between 3 inches and 8 inches.
It is the way you have sex and not the size of your penis that makes a difference in your wife’s satisfaction. But my difficulty with you is that you did not wait for marriage. “Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled, but fornicators and adulterers God will judge” (Hebrews 13:4). You committed fornication, and that sin needs to be dealt with. While I will tell you that you can make your wife perfectly happy with your body, I’m not inclined to discuss this with you until you are close to getting married. You have enough problems with fornication as it is without being tempted to commit it again.
