Is it normal to have pain during a growth spurt?

Question:

Is it normal to have a lot of pain in random places like my spine, neck, knees, and elbows during a growth spurt? Everything snaps, and it’s awful.

Answer:

What is typically referred to as growing pains affects the limbs, usually at night, and disappears by morning. Most often, it is in the legs. Some think it is due to muscle spasms. While they are common, no one has pinpointed an exact cause. Stretches and relaxing techniques may help.

Pain in the joints is a different problem. If it is persistent, you should talk to your doctor about it.
