I am a single mom with a 14-year-old son who is starting to become curious about sex. I caught him masturbating, which was awkward for both of us, to say the least. I decided this was a perfect opportunity to have “the talk” with him, but he doesn’t want to talk with mom about it. He did express a willingness to talk and has many questions, but wants to talk with a male. I don’t have anyone he can talk too and was wondering if there is a male at the church who would be willing?

I am quite willing to talk to him, as I have talked to hundreds of other young men over the years. I assume you and your son are religious and that he will be willing to use a Bible during our discussion. I don’t know where you are located, but here are some options:
- If you are in the Omaha region, we can meet to talk in person.
- We can talk by phone.
- We can talk through video conferencing, such as Skype or Zoom.
- We can talk through text messages including WhatsApp.
- We can talk by email.
