Could I have gotten her pregnant by humping her with our clothes on?

Question:

My girlfriend and I were fooling around today. We both had jeans and underwear on. I got on top of her and started humping her and I cummed. Well, she told me to keep going so I did and I cummed a total of three times while on top of her. When I got up there was a big stain on my jeans and a big stain on her jeans right above her private area. I want to know if she could get pregnant over this. I really need an answer because it’s really important.

Answer

The odds are very low, almost zero, but they are not zero. Sperm can swim and they are a lot smaller than the holes in the weave of the cloth. All that is needed is a moist pathway for sperm to travel, which you and she supplied when you misbehaved. It only takes one sperm, surviving the journey to cause a pregnancy.

Pregnancies have been known to happen as a result of this sort situation. From an Ann Landers column published March 16, 1997,

“Dear Ann Landers: After reading your column in The Philadelphia Inquirer about the woman who said she became pregnant without having intercourse, I knew I had to write.

In 1964, when I was serving on the bench of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, I had a similar case. Because there was no credible evidence of any other man being involved, I made a finding of paternity against the defendant. He then filed an appeal, and I embarked on some intensive research to determine if such a phenomenon was possible.I wrote to the gynecology department heads of all five medical schools in the Philadelphia area and asked whether it was possible for a pregnancy to occur in these circumstances. Each replied that not only was it possible, but it occurs with greater frequency than the public realizes.

I felt good knowing that there was a medical basis for my decision but was very disappointed when, after researching the law in every state, I could find no legal precedent. Quite by happenstance, however, within a few days, I ran across some English cases that involved the same phenomenon. Faced with this additional evidence, the defendant in my case withdrew his appeal.

I am not seeking publicity. During the 37 years I have been on the bench, where I am still sitting as a senior judge of the Court of Common Pleas, I have received my share of it. Sincerely yours. . .

Dear Judge Juanita Kidd Stout: Thank you for your good letter. You might be interested in the letter that follows.

Dear Ann Landers: Like the woman who signed herself “Mystified,” I became pregnant without actual intercourse. I was in a hot, bubbling, chlorinated Jacuzzi with my boyfriend, and we began to fool around. There was no actual penetration. When I insisted he stop, he respected my wishes.

Six weeks later, I knew I was pregnant and told him. He did not believe me because “we never really had sex.” He then assumed I had had sex with someone else and left me to deal with the situation alone. Of course, I was mortified. Please, Ann, tell your teenage readers to be careful. I’m embarrassed to tell you I was 25 when it happened to me.

Honolulu

Dear Honolulu: Thanks for your wisdom born of experience. I hope somebody listens.

There are other factors that have to line up for a pregnancy to occur, such as the time you did it was within six days of her ovulation. But the point that you have to face is you chose to behave in a lewd fashion. You are responsible for any consequences that might result from your sin. “Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts” (Romans 13:13-14).
