Did I reach my potential height?

Question:

Hello,

Will I grow any taller? Did I reach my potential?

I am 13 years and 9 months old. I’ve calculated my Tanner Stage on the Tanner Stage Calculator and got a 3.4. I hope that’s normal for my age. I would say I have dense pubic hair but no snail trail, no hair on my chest, fine hair on my armpits, and fine hair on my mustache and chin region. My penis is 15 cm long and about 13.7 cm in girth, but I haven’t measured my testicle volume and size. My dad is 183 cm (6′) and my mom is 153 cm (5′). I’ve grown about 13 cm last year. Will I grow another 10 cm? I am 5’9.5-5’10 but have Lordosis, so I guess I could be taller. I’ve gotten growth plate X-rays, which are not closed (at least in my spine).

Answer:

Lordosis (commonly called “swayback”) is usually something that people grow out of with treatment and exercises. I hope that happens with you.

You are in the middle of stage 3, when you grow the fastest. You still have another year of rapid growth (assuming the estimate is accurate). It doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll gain another 13 cm, but I would expect at least another 7 cm in the following year. Once you’ve reached stage 4, you’ll grow an additional 2 to 8 cm during the two years you are in stage 4. Straightening your spine will also add centimeters to your height. Thus, reaching an additional 10 cm is reasonable over the next three years, as you’ll continue to grow in height.
