How do you measure yourself for height?

Question:

Am I having a growth spurt if I am growing about two inches in two months, but not growing over the summer? When measuring yourself with the tape measure is that accurate?

Answer:

Generally, growth is measured over a span of 6 months or a year. The reason for this is that actual growth starts and stops; therefore, it is hard to see the actual trend when you measure frequently.

The way to measure yourself is to get a wide box and a pencil. Stand up against a wall barefooted, with your heels against the wall. Put the box on your head, stand up tall, and press the box against the wall. If you are careful, you can step out from under the box without moving it. Make a small mark at the bottom of the box with a pencil. Then use the tape measure to measure from the floor to the mark.
