Hi. I am 11 years old and I want to know when I am going to enter phase two. My friend is about 3 months older than me and he has armpit hair and pubic hair already.
Answer:
The average age to reach stage two of development is 12 years old. Obviously your friend started early. It is considered normal to start anywhere from age 9 to 16. But each person is unique. Two people can be the same age and at completely different stages of development.
Often boys miss some of the earliest signs of reaching puberty as the early changes are not that dramatic. One of the earliest signs is the testicles getting larger making the scrotum look like it is bulging even though it doesn’t yet hang down. Since the growth is gradual, it is easy to overlook the change.
But don’t be concerned. This isn’t a race. Your body will begin to change when it is ready.
