I’m interested in a girl, but I don’t want others seeing us in a bad way

Question:

Sir,

I’m a 15-year-old in school. I have always wanted to have a girlfriend, and recently I started to develop feelings for a girl in my class. I have started showing interest in her, and I think she likes me. What I’m worried about is that I don’t want people to see me in a bad way when I’m with her, and I don’t want to lose focus in my studies.

Please advice me. Thanks.

Answer:

If you don’t want others seeing you in a bad way, then treat this girl with respect. Don’t misbehave with her and don’t get into sexual situations with her. People who see you two together ought to think, “This is how Christian teenagers ought to behave.”

If you don’t want to lose focus on your studies, then you have to make your studies a higher priority in your life than spending time with a girl. It basically means you use your spare time for a relationship and not your study or sleep time.

Some people have the self-control to do these things and others do not. If you don’t believe you have the self-control, then don’t get started in something you can’t stop.

Response:

Thanks sir. God bless you.
