Is it normal to have one testicle bigger than the other one?

Question:

Hi,

I would like to know that is it normal to have one testicle bigger than the other one? Usually, when my right testicle is bigger I would gently squeeze it and I would feel some fluid rushing up, then it becomes normal. I don’t know what causes this and I’m not sure if it’s the testicle or the area where it is located.

Your response will be highly appreciated.

Answer:

It is normal for one testicle to be slightly larger than the other. However, what you are describing is not the testicle. It sounds like you have a hydrocele. There is fluid in the scrotum that helps protect the testicles, but sometimes the valve that regulates the amount of fluid in the scrotum doesn’t function properly, which causes extra fluid to pool in the scrotum, making that side larger. It can be repaired with surgery.
