Is mutual masturbation wrong?

My little brother asked me a while ago and I said I had to see what God would think. He said that he looked online and people said it was OK, but I said people also say that safe sex is OK, and we both know that’s wrong.

Mutual masturbation is when one person plays with another person’s body for sexual pleasure. It comes under the category of sensuality or lewdness. “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness” (Ephesians 4:17-19). Lewdness is behavior that is involved in pure self-enjoyment or behavior characteristic of an animal. You let instinct take over your body. You get so caught up in the passion of the moment that you stop thinking rationally and act like an animal.

It was also sexual touching — the arousing of sexual passion in another. “Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman” (I Corinthians 7:1). What is true between men and women is equally true between two people of the same sex. In fact, mutual masturbation between two people of the same sex is an act of homosexuality, which is also a sin. “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due” (Romans 1:26-27).

It also involves uncleanness. “But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints” (Ephesians 5:3). In this context, uncleanness refers to morally impure behavior, particularly of a sexual nature. You both would expose your private areas to each other, which isn’t proper.

Thanks a bunch. Also your website is awesome. I used it to help a friend stop watching porn.
