My anus is growing hair in it and the strip between genitals and buttocks is starting to grow hair. Is this abnormal? Is it safe to remove?
Answer:
It is perfectly normal. I generally don’t recommend shaving body hair.
- It contains the risk of nicking your skin which can allow infections to set in. This region is particularly exposed to bacteria because of your bowel movements.
- It is going to grow back anyway
- Freshly shaved hair is itchy as it grows back
- God put the hair there for a reason
The hair means you have to be more careful about wiping yourself clean. But the hair also keeps the cheeks of your buttocks separated slightly so that they don’t rub against each other when you run.
