My penis feels like a sponge and it bends many ways

Question:

Hello. I’ve been looking through your site and I have a question. I’m 15 years old. I’m not sure how to describe my situation. My penis feels like a sponge and it can bend many ways. I’ve read about some diseases and problems such as chordee, but I’m not sure what to do.  I think the arteries might be blocking the blood flow because the head of the penis feels empty and the penis doesn’t seem to have enough blood to distribute throughout evenly. It feels as if my penis doesn’t have enough blood flow. The state does change a little bit when I have an erection, but I was wondering if it is a major problem and if it is, what can I do about it?

Answer:

I’m puzzled how you came to the conclusion that your penis is not receiving enough blood flow. You are describing a normal penis in its flaccid (limp) state. It feels spongy because the penis is a sponge-like organ. When you have a full erection, it is not as easy to squeeze because the pressure of the blood inside makes the penis, including the glans, swell and stiffen. But while it is flaccid the penis and the glans is very soft and squeezable.

I’m wondering if you are a late bloomer and haven’t gotten far into adolescence yet. If you could take a look at the description of the Stages of Development and use the Tanner Stage Calculator for Boys and tell me what stage of development you are in, I might be able to better answer your question.
