When does moodiness start?

Question:

What part of stage 3 does moodiness come?

Answer:

Moodiness comes as a reaction to the changing levels of hormones in your body. Some people are very sensitive to the changes, while others are not so sensitive (or they hide it well).

The chart is by age and not by development stage; however, knowing that the average boy begins stage 2 at age 11, stage 3 at age 13.5, stage 4 at age 15, and stage 5 at age 17, you can roughly map the results. Notice that in stage 3, testosterone levels jump rapidly, and then a smaller jump happens in stage 4. The normal range is large, but this chart can’t track the daily fluctuations of testosterone levels. It is the change in hormone levels that leads to moodiness. During stages 3 and 4, the daily testosterone levels are unsteady.

I can’t say when moodiness starts, but when you realize that you are becoming moody, understand that it is temporary and that you are still responsible for your behavior despite your feelings at that moment. Knowing why you are moody helps a bit in managing your reaction to your moods.
