When will my penis get larger?

Last updated on September 5, 2020

Question:

I’m 14, and I was wondering when will my penis get larger. I have armpit hair, pubic hair, and anal hair but it seems that my penis is not getting larger. I read that after the testicles enlarge, which they have, that the penis gets longer and thicker, but it has not. I’m 120 pounds and 5’4″ tall. My penis size is 6 inches long and its thickness is 1 and a half inches. Please help me, and tell me what stage I’m in and tell me when my penis will get thick.

Answer:

I know you are concerned, but you are not being fully honest with yourself. You said your penis hasn’t grown, but it has. Having a penis that is six inches when erect is above the average for adult males, which is 5.2 inches, and you are not yet an adult [http://www.bjuinternational.com/bjui-blog/normal-review-analyzes-data-flaccid-erect-penis-lengths-men/]. You certainly don’t have a child-sized penis, so clearly it grew. The thickness of a penis is usually measured by the circumference. You take a string around the widest part when you are having a strong erection, mark the length on the string, and then measure the marked length against a ruler. If you are seeing 1.5 inches across then your circumference is somewhere between 4.5 and 5 inches. The average adult male penis is 4.6 inches in circumference, so again you are close to the average for an adult while you have not yet reached adulthood.

Regarding what stage you are in, you didn’t give me nearly enough information and since I can’t see you, I can’t make a guess other than that you are beyond stage 3. Use the Tanner Stage Calculator to get an estimate. Just remember it can only give as good of an estimate as you give accurate answers.
