Why does it feel weird when I get an erection?

Question:

When I get a boner it feels weird in my butt and my penis feels weird too. Can you help explain this?

Answer:

When you have an erection, muscles in your groin clamps down on the veins that bring blood from your penis back to your heart. With blood coming in, but nowhere to leave, the penis inflates like a balloon. What you are feeling are the muscles pulling. It isn’t unusual early on for more muscles than necessary to activate. Over time your brain will determine exactly which muscles are needed.

When your penis inflates, the surface skin gets stretched, making it more sensitive to touch. This is also what you are feeling.

Response:

OK. Thank you.
