Question:
I am 15 and 5’4, and my Tanner Stage is 3.7. I’ve grown .81 inches from 14-15, .85 inches from ages 13-14, .9 from 12-13, .95 from 11-12, and 1.21 from 10-11. Why have I never hit a real growth spurt and only been growing around 2 cm a year? Is there still hope to hit at least average stature?
Answer:
This one should be discussed with your doctor. Your growth rate is on the low side. Without knowing your parents’ heights, I can’t determine if it is your lineage. Your growth spurt should have come recently or very soon. It would be best to ensure everything is fine while the growth potential remains.
