Question:
Hello sir,
My question is: When will I get facial hair, and when will my voice deepen?
I took the test and I got between 4.4 and 4.6. I know I’m stage 4 because I’ve had a growth spurt a few years ago, and in the last two years, I’ve grown around 2 inches. In the last year, I’ve grown maybe three-quarters of an inch. I have hair on my inner thighs, a lot of armpit hair, pubic hair, and a faint moustache. But my voice isn’t really deep at all, and besides the moustache, I don’t have any facial hair. When will these things come?
Answer:
Facial hair starts appearing in stage 4, but it will not fully form until you are several years into stage 5. If your estimate is accurate, you should see “peach fuzz,” which are your vellus hairs getting longer before turning into terminal hairs.
Your voice also should be breaking or squeaking once in a while as your vocal cords get longer. It is possible that your adult voice may end up in the tenor range instead of the baritone or bass range. We tend to compare ourselves with others instead of judging ourselves independently. Is your voice deeper than childhood? Then it is shifting to an adult voice.
