Question:

Do late bloomers have shorter growth spurts?

Answer:

Generally, no. Late bloomers go through the stages just like normal and early bloomers. There is some thought that the final stage before adulthood (stage 4) is shortened a bit, which would explain why many later bloomer tend to be narrower in the shoulders than the rest. But as far as the growth spurt stage (stage 3) it is the same as everyone else.
