If I have oral sex with another boy, does that mean I’m gay?

Question:

When I was young I used to play sex games with my younger cousin, who is also male, back when we were 7 to 9 years old. He is four months younger than I am. I moved and we didn’t play games for about 3 years. Now I live three states away from him and every time I go to his house or he goes to mine we have oral sex. Does that mean I’m gay? He is the only one I do this to and I am attracted to girls.

Answer:

Attraction is not the issue unless we are talking about lust. Nor is the number of people the issue, unless we are talking about the spread of disease and that would depend on how many other people with whom your cousin is having sexual relations. The real issue in your case is that you are a male having sex with another male. This is the definition of homosexual acts. “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due” (Romans 1:26-27).

You are involved in a very serious sin. “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God” (I Corinthians 6:9-10). Unless you stop and repent of your sin, you won’t make it to heaven. “I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3).
