Question:
Hello.
I am wondering what my future predicted height is and why my growth is so slow.
12.5: 4’10.5”
13.5: 5’0.5”
14.5: 5’1.5”
15.5: 5’3”
16.5: 5’4.5”
17.5: 5’6”
As you can see, I’ve never had a pubertal growth spurt and have been growing at a rate of 1-2 inches every year throughout my teenage years.
Currently, at 17.5, my testicular volume is 8 mL, and my bone age x-ray gives 14.
My mid-parental height formula is 5’8” since my Mum is 5’4” and my Dad is 5’6.5”.
What do you think?
Answer:
Not everyone has a dramatic growth spurt. Some boys grow at a steadier pace for a longer period of time. Your bone age indicates you are in stage 4, but your testicular volume indicates that you are in stage 3. Since I have no other information about you, I can’t guess what stage you are actually at.
