My penis was small in size compared to others my age

Question

Hi! I am 19 years old and am Asian. This is regarding my penis size. It is less than 2 inches when flaccid and a little above 3 when erect.

I was skinny as a little kid, but at age ten I gained a whole lot of weight in a short period of time. I probably went from 80 pounds at age 8 to 130 at age 10 and kept gaining pound after pound until now.

I was circumcised at the age of 12 and there my penis was small in size compared to others my age. The doctor said that I have fat that’s hiding the internal part of my penis. Now I am 19 years old and is 5’6 and 125 pounds.  Is there a possibility that my penis will not be this way if I lose weight, or is my penis going to stay like this? But I heard the growth spurt of the penis can last until the age of 21.

When I used the Tanner calculator, I honestly answered the questions and it came up with 3.5 for me. And I never had acne problems, and I only grow hair below my nose and my on my chin, no full beard, no sideburns. But short hair on my belly. I never had a wet dream until this year. And I remember I use to wet my bed while sleeping until I was 12 years old. And maybe when I was 13 I use to have trouble holding my urine in and I would wet myself for the fact that I couldn’t hold it while walking.

I think I’m still going through puberty with my penis or it’s just small, way below average or is it a micro-penis? I’m concerned about my penis size.

Thank you! I would like to get a reply from, I would appreciate it. Thank you, once again.

Answer

You are not overweight. Using your height and weight, your body mass index is 20.2. A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered to be normal. Now it is possible that you are not involved in many sports are more fat than muscle, but for a typical male, you would not be considered fat in any way.

When I wrote the Tanner Stage Calculator, I tried to factor in people of Asian descent with the question of whether your lineage typically had a lot of body hair or not. Checking that box removes the weighting of the questions regarding facial and body hair. There is always the possibility that you answered the questions honestly but misunderstood what was intended because of my poor wording. If you are willing, send me the answers you gave and why then I’ll look to see if I can make some improvements to the calculator. What I suspect is that it gave you too low of a number.

The reason is that:

  • You mention having short hair on your stomach, by which I assume you mean a strip of hair from your groin to your naval — that is a sign of being in stage 4.
  • You mention having facial hair, though little, is still of the amount for someone of Asian descent to be in at least stage 4.
  • You mention gaining weight suddenly at age 10. That is usually a sign of being in stage 2. Most stages last about two to three years, so at a typical rate, you should be in stage 5 by now.
  • You mention no longer wetting the bed after age 12. That is an indication that your reproductive organs had begun maturing internally. This usually happens in stage 3, which matches all the other hints.

If you actually are in stage 3, then yes, your penis will still grow both in length and in width. But if my suspicion is correct that you are much further matured, then you may see some changes in width and in how it looks, but you won’t see any additional length.

Now, let’s assume that three inches is all you will ever have in length. First, it is not considered a micro-penis. A micro-penis is when the length is less than 1.5 inches when erect. Yes, three inches is less than the average Asian penis length of 5.5 inches, but it isn’t unheard of.

Having a penis that is three inches long will not effect your ability to have sex. The typical female’s vagina is three inches long when she is not sexually aroused. In addition, the wife’s body is able to adjust to the size of her husband’s penis within a few months of marriage. Since you are small than average, your wife will become used to having sex with you faster than a man who has a large penis. Most of the pleasure in sex comes from how it is done and not from the size of your penis. There may be some sexual positions you cannot use because you just won’t have the reach, but it doesn’t mean all positions will give you problems.

Nor will you have to be concerned about your ability to have children. The typical male shoots semen about six to twelve inches when he ejaculates, which is more than enough to reach your wife’s cervix. In addition your sperm swim, so even those delivered only part way will make their way to the fallopian tubes to cause conception.

Whatever your size, you should be happy with the way God made you. But in your case, I believe you are worrying over something that will not be a problem — unless you make it into a problem.
