When does gynecomastia go away?

Last updated on March 8, 2023

Question:

Hi,

The calculator says I’m at stage 3.9. For the most part, I have an average amount of pubic hair for someone in Stage 3, but I have a faint strip of hair growing from my pubic hair to my belly button that is not easily seen. My voice is a little deeper than it was when I was younger, and it cracks frequently. I have a faint mustache on my upper lip which I shave 2 times a week and two barely noticeable chin hairs. I have grown almost 4 inches in the last year. Does this sound right?

Also, I have had gynecomastia for about two years now. Is this normal?

Answer:

Yes, your description of yourself matches someone in late stage 3.

There are two types of gynecomastia. If you are referring to fat in your chest area, it should be decreasing now unless you are overweight. If you are overweight, then you need to start getting your eating under control. The other type of gynecomastia is due to hormone problems. It is only solved by surgery. Response:

Thanks!
