Unfortunately, after discovering masturbation, many boys use it because
- They want the pleasurable feeling again,
- They are bored, or
- They are stressed out and want a distraction along with the relaxed feeling that comes after ejaculating.
While none of those reasons are not particularly wrong, they do open the path of temptation. Your body is designed to want to ejaculate when your seminal vesicles (the organs that produce semen) get full. But when your seminal vesicles are not full, it is more difficult to reach the point of orgasm and ejaculation. These glands don’t operate on demand. They fill at their own pace, which varies a bit depending on how often you are aroused. Thus, when you try to ejaculate for reasons other than need, you soon find that it doesn’t always work. This leads to the temptation to use pornography or lustful thoughts about another person to push the process.
Temptation is something that should be avoided. Sin is hard enough to overcome without creating more opportunities to be tempted. Therefore, the best thing you can do is simply wait until you know you have a need to ejaculate. When you do wait, you will find the feelings that come with orgasm are more intense and more enjoyable. But how do you know it is time?
As the seminal vesicles get full, you will notice that you get erections more often and more easily. Every erection does not mean you have to ejaculate, but when it seems as if your penis just won’t stay still, it is likely time to relieve yourself. Another signal is that your arousal level goes up. You will find your thoughts drifting to ideas of sex and it is hard to focus on tasks. That just means it is time to ejaculate. It doesn’t have to be done immediately, but you should get around to doing it in the next day or so.
The average adult male tends to ejaculate about twice a week. It can be as infrequent as once a month or it can be as frequently as once a day. Teenage boys tend to need to ejaculate more often. Once a day is more common among teenage boys and it is not unheard of to need to ejaculate two or three times a day.
