Question:
Hi, good day!
I would like to know if I am still growing because my growth seemed to have paused this year. Over the winter, I grew about 3/4 inch to 1 inch, but suddenly it stopped. Since then, I have remained the same height.
According to the Tanner stage calculator, I am at Tanner stage 4.4, as my pubic hair has started forming a triangle and I have a “happy trail” that began growing a few months ago, although it is still peach fuzz and is not very noticeable. The length of my testicles is 4.3 cm.
I used the height predictor on your website, and it indicates that my predicted height will be around 174 cm, whereas I am currently 171 cm at 14 years of age. My dad’s height is 5’9″ and my mom’s height is 5’2″.
I first noticed the growth of my pubic hair when I was around 10 years old, and I had my growth spurt at 12. Around that time, my voice also started to deepen. A few months after my 14th birthday, I began growing underarm hair, which is now growing a lot, although it is not as thick as adult hair.
I’m just curious if I am experiencing a growth pause because I haven’t grown in almost 6 months.
Thanks.
Answer:
The last year of being in stage 4 doesn’t bring about a great deal of growth in height. You will likely grow a little bit more, but much of the current growth is in broadening your shoulders and other things that don’t lend you extra height.
Question:
Would I be able to reach around 5’9 at least? I’m currently 5’7.5 right now.
Thanks.
Answer:
It is within the realm of possibility, but the odds are that you’ll end up being slightly less than 5’9.
