Does edging reduce the frequency of wet dreams?

Question:

I’m currently trying to abstain from ejaculating to have wet dreams. I am aware there is nothing righteous or wrong about masturbation, so that is not a concern of mine. Sometimes, however, I will masturbate but will not finish the job. I know seeking pleasure is dangerous ground for us Christians, so I do not mainly edge for the pleasure of it (although it is a small factor). I mainly do it because it helps ease the tension of not ejaculating for days. Do you think this is unwise and would edging reduce the frequency of wet dreams?

(Also I’m saving myself for marriage, and do not watch pornography.)

Answer:

Edging would cause your body to load semen into your ejaculatory ducts in preparation for ejaculation, but since you stop before ejaculating, that leaves the semen in the duct. The semen is already mixed with your sperm and chemicals from your prostate gland, so there is no way to return it. What will happen is that semen will drip out of the ejaculatory duct into your urethra. The next time you pee or get aroused enough to produce pre-ejaculate fluid, those fluids will push the semen out of your penis.

Edging is still masturbating, even if you didn’t reach orgasm and ejaculation. You are still moving semen out of your seminal vesicles but in a less efficient manner. This is why you find edging gives you relief.

Since you are keeping down the amount of semen in your seminal vesicles, it will reduce how often you have wet dreams.

I don’t know of any harm in what you are doing, but I don’t think it is gaining you anything either.
