Question:
Hey! I’m a 15-year-old boy. For some reason on the side of my scrotum, I have a red bump on the outside of my skin that is painless and gives off a clear liquid when popped. What is it?
Answer:
Most likely it is acne. While we generally think of acne occurring on the face, it can show up anywhere on the body. Popping an acne blister is generally not a good idea as it tears the skin surface, allowing other germs a way in. You can spot treat it acne medication or an antibacterial ointment. If the red bump stays around, it can indicate a more serious infection, such as staph, which will require a medication from a doctor.
