Question:

I was researching my family history when something hit me. Except in the case of a chance mutation, wouldn’t I, my dad (and his brothers), my dad’s father and his brothers (and so on), wouldn’t we all share the exact same Y chromosome?

Answer:

Yes, all male descendants share the same Y chromosome of their direct male ancestor.
