Answer:

There are a couple of answers that puzzle me, but assuming everything is accurately answered, you probably have less than an inch of growth left before you are finished. The only way to be certain is to see a doctor and get an x-ray to check your growth plates. My guess is that the doctor will find that they are closing down.

Question:

Thanks! But do you know any way to increase my height to two inches? I heard that jumping increases HGH. According to you my growth plates are going to close, but I found a site that says something else. Please help me. I want to increase two inches.

Answer:

I don’t know if your growth plates are open, closing, or closed. Remember, I can only go by what you have told me. You indicated that you are in stage 4 through the questions you answered. In that stage the growth plates close down. But the only way to confirm the accuracy of what stage you are in is to see a doctor and get a bone age test.

In the article you cited, the boy stated he was 15 years old with a bone age of 17. In other words, he was two years advanced in his development from the average male. The doctor responded that a bone age of 17 means that some of growth plates have closed, but some remain open. In his second note, he told the boy that he had the potential to grow more (but notice he didn’t say how much) and recommended that he eat healthy and exercise to give his body the best opportunity to grow. He also stated that the boy would not grow beyond what his genes would allow him to grow. He suggested asking his doctor about hormones, but I suspect he only stated this to make the boy feel better. He didn’t say the doctor would give them. More likely his doctor would explain why they would not help his situation.

There is no statement that jumping would increase the HGH in a person’s blood.

A person in stage 4 typically adds 1 to 2 inches of height while in that stage. I haven’t seen you, so I can’t tell you if you are in the middle of stage 4 or not. I can’t double check your answers to make sure you understood the questions. What I can tell you is that your height has nothing to do with your happiness. Happiness comes because you choose to enjoy life as it comes. The best thing you can do is accept that you are as God made you. You have many things to be thankful for, so stop making yourself miserable focusing on what you don’t have control over.

Rejoice, young man, during your childhood, and let your heart be pleasant during the days of young manhood. And follow the impulses of your heart and the desires of your eyes. Yet know that God will bring you to judgment for all these things. So, remove grief and anger from your heart and put away pain from your body, because childhood and the prime of life are fleeting” (Ecclesiastes 11:9-10).
